Mark Turuk is a Toronto, Ontario based photographer, marketing & sales professional, and technologist.
He grew up on the flat, bald-ass prairie, in a very rural setting; he once watched his dog run away for three days.
The prairies gave Mark a love of nature; big open skies, epic thunder and lightning storms, and a compulsion to document the world around him. This was not to his advantage prior to the invention of digital photography, as the costs of film-development nearly drove his family to dispair.
Upon graduating college with a double-major in marketing and management, Mark spent time in Austin, Texas as well as Medicine Hat, Alberta, before moving to Toronto. He claims that he lost a bet, however it’s also tacitly understood that 3000 km makes an acceptable moat. It should be noted that Alberta has not yet asked for him back, while Ontario seems rather resigned to his continued presence.
While in Ontario, Mark became an avid scuba-diver, and at one point a PADI certified Divemaster. In an effort to combine hideously-expensive hobbies, Mark took up underwater photography, and has found the results to be downright synergistic.
Mark is available on a photographic basis, and has experience with wedding, event, model and headshot portfolio shooting, as well as architecture, video and of course, underwater production.
While also available from a comedic perspective, the reader is strongly encouraged to refrain from encouraging what is, admitedly a somewhat warped sense of humour.
